Excursions: Ancient Tanagra                                                                                                                      

The hill of ancient Tanagra is approached from Asopos River bridge, near the chapel of Ayios(Saint) Thomas. The district is known as 'Krimatha'. Walking through the road you will see remains from the walls of the ancient city. The photo represents the hill, as we approach from the modern village of Ayios Thomas. 

The hill of ancient Tanagra, as we approach it from Oinoi Railway Station. The climb till the top of the hills last about 15 minutes. There is a Greek Water Company's pump room there. The view from the top of the hill is spectacular and attributes the choice of- that era- people to built a town here.
